Freebies
I LOVE LOVE LOVE freebies!! I cant help myself. :)
Boards.ie is one of my favourite sites. Its easy to spend an hour just going through the different forums when one is bored in work :) They have a thread called Freebie List where everyone posts different websites that are giving away something free.. I have gotten a pedometre from it and sun flower seeds, carrot seeds, chocolate and I think my mam got a reusable shopping back from there. Its really handy, but there can be times where you do sign up for something free and you get nothing. But I would still only sign up for freebies that I would actually use. No point in signing up for everything. Click here to have a look
Secondly I would recommend everyone to do competitions online, especially on facebook! Im usually not a lucky person when it comes to winning things but the past 12 months, mainly through facebook, I have gotten a good few freebies.
I got.....
a cream Yumi dress from Clerys (facebook)
Yes to Carrots Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash (stylesiren.ie)
2 tickets to the preview screening of Adjustment Bureau (beaut.ie)
€25 voucher for Benetton (facebook)
€30 voucher for Konad (facebook)
The last two of which I got in the last 24 hours!! Have a look to see if your favourite shop, restaurant etc is on facebook and "like" the page and you will be surprised at what competitions they have for you to win stuff
YAY FREE STUFF!!!! :)

Scrimpers and Savers - Channel 4
Did anyone see Scrimpers and Savers on Channel 4 last night (at least i think thats what it was called). I was SO excited to watch it, had it set to record, was waiting to hear all these wonderful things I hadnt thought about for bargains, and wow was I disappointed.
One woman showed how she made her own pasta for pennies - She went out and picked nettles, washed then which supposedly takes out most of the sting, chopped them and added them with flour and two egg yokes. She then rolled it out and cut it into strips. It looked disgusting as it boiled away in the pan. PASS
One tip was interesting though, since myself and my sister did have trouble with a blocked sink in the kitchen. This woman said that when you crack an egg, dont throw the shell away, but smash it a bit and put it down the sink. She said the sharp edges will cling on to stuff stuck in the u-bend and will help it move along - interesting! Better than spending €5 on Mr Muscle drain cleaner - which I have to say worked a TREAT!!
Then a lady "Miss Moneypenny" went to a home somewhere in England to give the family tips to help them not spend so much... they spent over £2k a month more than what their salary was!!! (and they were making a joint income of around 100k - 120k a year!!!) Anyhoo, I was so excited to hear the tips they were going to get to help them save money that I could use, but I was so disappointed.
Basically, they had on average 5 takeaways a week!!! Yes, FIVE!!! So they were told not to have takeaways and cook the meals themselves...
The husband drive a big 4.4 car that had a 2.2 or a 2.4 litre engine.. so they swapped it for a 1.2litre engine for the week...
And finally they were told to stop buying clothes they didnt need..
Nothing new there to learn!
Really not what I was hoping for out of the programme and I was left very deflated.... i love me a good bargain or a good tip and I didnt get either :(
Fingers crossed next weeks episode will have gotten better!

Italian Eary Bird for €8.95!!!
Let me introduce you to Ciao Bella Roma My boyfriend told me about this place a few months ago and it has fast become a favourite of mine.
Their early bird is from 12noon until 6pm Monday - Saturday (I'm not sure about Sunday) and its Starter or Side, Main - Pizza, pasta and a glass of wine for €8.95!!!
The restaurant is run by Italians, kitchen is open so you know its going to be good. I have ordered the brushetta and mushroom pizza for the early bird and it is gorgeous. The pizza is huge but thin and so crispy. I have gone once after 6pm too and the food is definitely well worth it
But if you are looking for somewhere cheap, in the city, where you can get your belly fed with gorgeous food and come away with change in your pocked from a tenner, definitely try this place! Let me know what you think!

Menupages.ie
Im not sure if everyone knows about Menupages.ie but it is one of my favourite sites. I usually go on to it to read reviews of restaurants I havent been to before, or to check out the menu before I go out to dinner. Very handy indeed
But whats better is that for every review you write, or every online booking you make through their website you receive points. With these points you can use them on a variety of restaurants for free starters or mains, or even a free bottle of wine.
Free wine? Bargain!

Gorgeous and cheap leather gloves
There are many things I have a slight addiction to; jewellery, handbags, sunglasses, scarves, underwear... the list is endless. But I do love leather gloves, especially if they are cheap!
These I saw in Marks and Spencers today on Henry Street in Dublin 1 and they are gorgeous. So soft and a really nice shade of pink/purple. Normal retail price is €20, but the sale price is €7
Definitely worth getting a pair for an early Christmas pressie, or to hold on for yourself when the snow comes back
BARGAIN!
